I'm a principal author at Taleo Research's talent management blog , the company blog for Taleo, a talent management software company based in Dublin, CA. My writing at the blog ranges from general talent management topics to postings specific to sub-disciplines including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, sucession planning, compensation, and learning and development.
Prior to joining Taleo, from August 2008 through May 2011, I was the primary author of Element K Blog, the company blog for Element K, a learning solutions company based in Rochester, NY. My writing at the blog covered a range of topics, including Learning and Development industry trends, and various specific areas such as social learning and mobile learning.
I am a frequent speaker at events focused on areas such as Talent Management, Human Capital Management, and Learning and Development. I have spoken at dozens of events, before audiences large and small, ranging from small regional workshops to national and international conferences. For a list of my public speaking experience, see my chronology of speaking engagements. For a video sample from 2011, see this video.
In 2008 I published a new edition of Frontier Experience or Epistolary Sesquipedalian Lexiphanicism from the Occident, first written by J.E.L. Seneker in 1906. Simply stated, you have never seen a book like this!
To learn why, visit the pages at the book's website, and read the original author's preface, the editor's preface, see some sample quotations from the book (hilarious!), and more. This unique book is available for purchase through Amazon.com. For more information, visit this website I created.
I am one of the writers at Seamheads.com, a popular baseball blog and reference site. My blog articles tend to be about statistical analyses, Hall-of-Fame and "all-time rankings" considerations, and related topics.
I am also working on a baseball book project which currently lacks a title. The focus is on the recurring question of determining the All-Time Team rosters for each major-league franchise, and comparing my selections with those of other authors, fan surveys, and more.
I was creator of EpistemeLinks.com, which for a long time was a leading philosophy resource directory website. Online since 1997, at its peak it included over 19,000 well-categorized links to a wide range of resources in philosophy, and was widely used by university professors, students, and others interested in the subject of the philosophy. The site was taken down in 2011 and only a simple homepage with select links to top resources in philosophy remains.
